Whoops a Daisy!!!

Ok, so it JUST occured to me that I haven't blogged ALL week!!! I have been runnin' and gunnin' so much that I haven't even had 5 minutes in the past 4 days to post anything. Luckily, today I have a little more free time, so I can catch you up!
This week has been crazy. We had a guest speaker in for Late Nite, so I helped take care of his needs as much as possible. He was a super cool guy. It was great having someone so different than our "flow" around. It brings back perspective that there are other great kinds of preachers all over the U.S. He was definitely a blessing to us.
Yesterday was Mike and Rachel's tenth anniversary!! Mike made some great plans for her and I can't wait to see how much she enjoyed it all! Make sure you congratulate them when you see them next!
Yesterday I also met with my jewelry lady, Mrs. Andrena Keesee. She is doing such a fantastic job with everything. The pieces she has created for me and my bridesmaids are absolutely beautiful. My necklace looks like vintage couture. It is complete perfection. When you fall in love with all the jewelry, get with me and I'll give you her contact info!!!
Today Chris and I hit the 10 week mark to our wedding. Just 70 more days!! The big day is getting close! I am so glad that I did so much planning early so my life isn't crazy and unprepared now. Plus I have an incredible mom and some amazing bridesmaids who are helping me so much. I love those girls!!!
This weekend is going to be crazy. I am training again for stage directing at all the services, and then the rest of the day Sunday will be spent at the HPC ball fields to watch my man play in the softball tournament. Come and hang out with me!!! Until next time...

GOOD NEWS!!

So, the praying and sacrifice has paid off... We got the apartment we have been hoping for! No, it's not an upstairs unit, but it is OURS and I am pumped!!! It's 2 bedroom, 2 bath (thank goodness) and it has the exact floorplan we wanted!!! I am going to move in late August, and obviously Chris will move in after the honeymoon.
This is such a testimony of God working. Just yesterday I called and they had nothing open for us, and I gave it all to God, and He orchestrated everything. We were originally going to buy, but through prayer and wise counsel, God gave us such a peace about renting here, and we know we are in His will. It's a beautiful feeling.
We are going to make so many wonderful and important memories in the first year of our marriage, and many will be right there in our first place. I cannot wait to see what the future holds!
Sounds cliche, but God is just SO good!!!!!!!!

Brief, boring, but beautiful

I have nothing exciting to say... I could tell you all about how my gorgeous fiance amazed me today, but you already know that.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have the greatest family in the world and I have been so blessed to be given all these wonderful people in my life. I love you guys!!!!
Plus, I am getting some pretty fantastic in-laws. God loves me, in case you didn't know :)

It stinks to be Satan

Satan's funny. He makes me laugh. He uses any and all means necessary to distract us from what God is doing in our lives. Well sorry, sucker. You already lost! God is bigger than all the confusion, distractions, selfishness, and hurt in this world.
Thank you, Jesus, for restoring our vision for our lives. Chris and I are happier and stronger today than maybe we ever have been, despite every attempt from Hell. We have only 79 days til marital bliss, and I will enjoy everyday of this engagement from here on out. No stress, no worries- everything is taken care of. God is in control and it feels amazing!
I love the most amazing man on the planet and he loves me, too. It doesn't get much better than this :)
Oh, and P.S... Chris got a promotion! My baby's been kickin' some tail and hit the necessary numbers to move up in the corporate world. I am SO proud!!!!!

40 days of prayer for the children

http://www.childrenscup.org/40days/40menu.htm

Here's an excerpt from Dan Ohlerking's blog. Please read it and check out the above link. This is where my heart is- in the lives of these children.

"i've got a favor to ask of all of you who read my blog. if you've read much at all here, you know that i'm involved in
children's cup - working with AIDS orphans and OVC's in africa.we've felt strongly over the past few weeks that we need to ask people for a united focus of prayer for these kids. if you read some of the stories on the children's cup website, you'll see what i mean. the kids we care for are in some of the hardest situations imaginable. one child was found as a baby after he was left by his mother to die - left in a toilet pit (like an outhouse). others are street kids. most are AIDS orphans. many have the disease themselves. all of them need hope.so, i'm asking for as many of you as will do it to join us starting august 1for forty days of prayer for the children. we've got a website up where you can learn more and there's an online prayer guide where we'll post each day's focus in a blog format.if you are willing to pray with us for these precious children, we'd like to include you in the list we've posted of people and churches who are praying. And we'd love it if you'd help us spread the word about it - we've created a special tag you can add to your blog or website."

my weekend in Many

Yes, we actually had an awesome time in the great town of Many, Lousiana. (pronounced Man-ee)... Chris and I were able to drive up to his family's camp up there and hang out, fish, jet ski, and eat lots of birthday cake and ice cream. Lauren's (Chris' sister) turned 13 Saturday. She's a teenager now! It was so cool getting to be with her on her special day. Since they live out of town, that's a blessing we don't often get to enjoy. Satuday night Uncle Cecil did an amazing job frying some fish. They were inCREDible! I don't even like fried fish, but I loved his! Yum Yum!!!
My baby got extremely sunburned, though. He was pretty miserable yesterday... things are better today, but keep him in your prayers.
Also, I want to give a shout-out to my boy Jordan Rome. Props to him for being one of the thirtyish people who check out our blog regularly. We appreciate you, friend!
Today- like most Tuesdays- I got the pleasure of teaching the Summer Session kids. If you guys are reading this, leave me a comment and let me know!!
I hope everyone has an awesome day. 80 days and counting til wedding bells!!! Tonight we get to go do a FEMA outreach. I'll fill you in on it tomorrow!!!

6 days later

Ok Ok... I know it has been 6 whole days and you were wondering what was going on in the lives of Meghan and Chris... Well folks, not a whole heck of a lot. This past weekend I went and ate sushi with some old friends. Then the next day I went and ate sushi again with my beautiful fiance at Tsunami. You totally just pay for the atmosphere there, but it was worth it. That night we met up with the couples lifegroup to see Pirates 2. Don't waste your money. It was long, boring, dark, boring...and did I mention boring? There were funny parts, but totally not worth my time. I would much rather have been watching HGTV. Sunday we went to church and helped with some VBS stuff, but this weekend was pretty uneventful overall.
We have really been praying and seeking after God for wisdom and direction. One thing we are really struggling with is whether to rent or buy a place for when we get married. God has given us both a peace about renting for a while because of our financial situation. Anyway, just be praying for that... We just want to be sure to hear from God, but we are taking all the steps to do that.
Anyway, no Late Nite tonight, which is stinky, but it'll give me some time to pack for our trip this weekend. We are going to Toledo Bend with Chris' family and I can't wait... Just hope it doesn't rain!!!! Until next time... ciao.

great day in the neighborhood!

Ok, so we once again- as always- had an incredible staff meeting. Bishop T.D. Jakes was in the house... hehehe just kidding! But we did watch a KILLER video of his teaching at the C3 conference at Ed Young's church. I took 6.5 pages of notes. I really wanted to share some with you, but I honestly believe that typing all that would take 6.5 years to do and it would take you 6.5 years to read and digest, so I will try another day. It was just way too exciting! I love that kid.. so anyway, I have decided to share some life-affirming statements that Mike brought the house down with last night at Late Nite... Get ready...get set... get changed!

I’m in Christ because I understand that failure is an event, not a person; that yesterday ended last night and today is my brand new day.
I’m in Christ, my past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.
I’m in Christ because I know that success (a win) doesn’t make me, and a failure (a loss) doesn’t break me.
I’m in Christ because I am filled with faith, hope, and love and live without anger, greed, guilt, envy, or thoughts of revenge.
I’m in Christ because I am mature enough to delay gratification and shift my focus from my rights to my responsibilities.
I’m in Christ because I know that a failure to stand for what is morally right is the prelude to being the victim of what is criminally wrong.
I’m in Christ because I am secure in who I am, so I am at peace with God and in fellowship with man.
I’m in Christ because I understand that others can give me pleasure, but only Jesus can satisfy the hunger in my soul.
I’m in Christ because I am pleasant to the grouch, courteous to the rude, and generous to the needy.
I’m in Christ because I love the unlovable and give hope to the hopeless, friendship to the friendless, and encouragement to the discouraged.
I’m in Christ because I look back in forgiveness, forward in hope, down in compassion, and up with gratitude.
I’m in Christ because I know that “He who would be the greatest among you must become the servant of all.”
I’m in Christ because I recognize, confess, develop, and use my God-given physical, mental, and spiritual abilities to the glory of God and for the benefit of man.
I’m in Christ when I stand in front of the Creator of the universe and He says to me, “Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into my rest.”

2 Corinthians 5:17- Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away and behold all things have become new!

Happy Birthday, America!

So, our Fourth of July weekend was fantabulous! Friday we hung out with Kristin and Jonah. We cooked like grown-ups and then went and saw Superman Returns. Saturday I saw the Devil Wears Prada with my mom (AWESOME movie!!!!!), worked the 5pm service and then took my man out to a romantic dinner at Gino's. That was an amazing night for us. Sunday we got to hang out with Chris' cousin and his family all day and had a great time. Then we- you guessed it- saw a movie! This time it was the Lake House. Good, but too confusing. Monday and Tuesday we relaxed and it was SUPER. We went to Gena and Toby's last night and ate and shot fireworks. We had such a blast hanging out with JP and Heather, Angela and Matt, and Gena and Toby. We love those guys.
Today Chris and I met for our first prayer lunch. We are praying together everyday at lunch time - for our relationship, our future marriage, finances, wisdom in job opportunities for Chris, purity, clarity, all that good stuff. Today was unbelievable and I know God is going to do amazing things through this time together, with Him. He spoke so many things so loud and so clear that we just really needed to be reminded of. I just love how He always comes through when I need Him. And by the way, Chris has got some good praying skills I can't wait for him to unleash!!!
Anyway, until tomorrow..................
